Autumn is here and the nights are drawing in, meaning we spend more time indoors. The change of season is the perfect time to make your home cosier – and what better place to start than in the heart of the home? Here are our four favourite kitchen trends this autumn.

1.Earthy green colour palettes

What could be more seasonal than bringing nature into your kitchen? Our Cornell Willow kitchen above is a traditional yet modern design in a soft green that delivers an elegant, timeless aesthetic. Check out our kitchen collections here.

A green colour palette is a versatile kitchen trend that’s here to stay. Use it in kitchen cabinetry and accessories seasonally through the year, or team with pale neutrals or dark greys for a sophisticated vibe.

2.Clean lines – calm ambience

Simplicity is king this autumn. Popular kitchen ranges include our contemporary handleless kitchens that offer a minimalist and practical space to spend time in. And with integrated appliances and plenty of hidden storage options, there’s nothing to interrupt the streamlined look.

Today’s modern kitchen is all about choosing top quality materials and items that put form and function at the heart of your kitchen design.

3.Cosy layering

We are instinctively drawn to layers of cosy fabrics as we head towards wintertime, but soft textures are something that many kitchen interiors lack. This autumn, adding layers to create a cosy, luxurious feel in the kitchen is a huge trend.

How about covering up hard kitchen flooring with a hardwearing seagrass rug, perhaps layering a thicker pile carpet on top? Add cushions and throws to bench seating to create that sense of ‘hygge’ when entertaining guests. And don’t forget thick curtains to keep the heat in and the cold out.

4.Mid-century accents

Warm, dark wood tones such as rich walnut timber and teak on kitchen worktops and in cabinets are becoming increasingly popular in kitchen interiors. It’s a nod towards the rise of ‘old meets new’, particularly in combination with mid-century furniture.

Pair this trend with plenty of soft furnishings for a mellow, relaxed look, and choose on-trend muted tones or bold pops of terracotta or deep aubergine.
