Much of the media are calling today “Blue Monday”, labelling it one of the most depressing days of the year as everyone returns to work after the festive season whilst the howling winds and driving rain combine to keep things looking grim during a day in which we only get a total of eight hours of daylight. All in all there’s not much to be happy about today but that doesn’t mean we should all curl up and hibernate until Spring because there are a number of ways you can beat the blues and turn Blue Monday into more of a Woohoo Monday!

2014

First up, think about what the year ahead holds for you and your family and friends. Think about your personal goals and aspirations and then think about other things you may achieve along the way. 2014 has only just begun and there’s much to get excited about over the next 12 months. Sports fans will be looking forward to the World Cup in Brazil over the Summer, closely followed by the Commonwealth games held in Glasgow straight after. We’ve also got the Winter Olympics next month, held in Sochi, Russia and let’s not forget Sports Personality of the Year Andy Murray will be defending his Wimbledon title at the All England Lawn Tennis Club during June and July, which is sure to get the nation excited.

But if sports isn’t your thing and you’re looking for other reasons to be cheerful then why not kick off the new year by making positive changes to your home. If a change is as good as a holiday then what better way to bring some joy to this gloomy January than by sprucing up your home? New years are about new beginnings, out with the old and in with the new, so tearing out your tired old kitchen and installing something all together more “you” could be just the ticket to brush away the cobwebs and get 2014 off to the best possible start.

Perhaps something a little more contemporary and stylish? Or would you rather go back to basics with a more traditional rustic look in the busiest room of your home? Whatever your preference you can be sure Price Kitchens have got a solution to suit you down to the ground so why not indulge in a little retail therapy and browse some of our kitchen collections online?
