Simple Halloween Recipes

Author: PriceK

With Halloween coming up, whether you’re a big fan of the traditional ghostly holiday or you’re just putting a brave face on for the kids, there are countless Halloween recipes just waiting to be tried out for the end of October. Why not make the best use of your kitchen worktops this Halloween by trying these spooky spider snacks?

Spider Web Muffins

You’ll Need:

Mini muffins or store bought muffins
White Chocolate
Piping Bags
Dark Chocolate
Cocktail Sticks

Melt a bowl of white chocolate and a bowl of dark chocolate. Pour the white chocolate into one of the piping bags and the dark chocolate into the other.

Spread one chocolate all over the muffin top as a base and then using the piping bags pipe four circles on the muffin with the other type of chocolate. The result here should look like a bull’s-eye target. Now get your cocktail stick and drag it gently through the chocolate from the centre out to the edges, making an asterisk. Voila! Quick and easy spider web muffins!

Spider Cookies

You’ll Need:

1 Pack of Oreo Cookies
Dark or Milk Chocolate (broken up and melted)
Icing Pens
Liquorice Wheels

All you need to do is melt the chocolate in a bowl over a pan of boiling water. Drop a small teaspoon of the melted chocolate onto one of the cookies.

Unravel the liquorice wheels and cut them into semicircles to be used for the spider legs. Place four of these legs onto the cookie, arranging them so that they poke out of the side of the spider. Sandwich the legs with another cookie and then add a little more chocolate on the top, along with the icing to decorate.
