Valentine’s Chocolate Brownie

Do you love anyone enough to give them your last Rolo? How about going one better and giving them a whole packet of Rolos baked into a chocolate brownie? Oh yes, Valentine’s Day treats don’t get any better than this.

No matter how big or small your kitchen is, or how basic your cooking skills may be, this recipe is suitable for all.

You need: 125 g self-raising flour, 60 g cocoa powder, 225 g dark brown sugar, 185 g butter (cold), 3 eggs, 100 ml milk, 50 g chocolate chips, 50 g white chocolate chips, 1 packet of Rolos.

Rub the butter, flour and cocoa powder together until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs, then stir in the sugar. Beat together eggs and milk and stir into the dry mixture. Pour into a greased and lined heart-shaped cake tin (equivalent size to an 8” round tin) and place the Rolos all over the top.

Bake for 30 minutes in a preheated oven at 180C (160C for fan assisted ovens) until just firm in the middle, then cool for 10 minutes before carefully turning out of the tin.

Melt the chocolate chips in the microwave (white and dark separately) and decorate the brownie to your heart’s content.
